|  HARBOR HOUSE
The imposing three story Georgian house has graced the banks of the Sampit River for over two and a quarter centuries. Situated on a gracious bluff amid magnolias, camellias, hydrangeas, and the sheltering arms of venerable live oaks, the house is accompanied by another monument of South Carolina history – The Red Store. This c. 1740 shipping warehouse formerly stored silks, indigo and imported wines, and once fronted the largest dock in the harbor.
From a shaded rocker on the inn’s long porches, views of the time-worn brick and tabby warehouse, weathered docks hosting shrimp boats and sailing ships, and the blue waters of Winyah Bay and the Atlantic beyond have remained unchanged for centuries, softening the boundaries between yesterday and today. You can even dock your boat at the nearby marina for a small fee.
Images of the past continue inside the immaculately restored house as light floods the generously sized rooms of original heart pine floors, deep colonial moldings, family antiques, eight fireplaces and oriental carpets. The parlor and formal dining room overlook the harbor and are available to guests. A full South Carolina Lowcountry breakfast is served each morning, perhaps including the house special of Shrimp and Grits, and refreshments of crab or shrimp dip are offered in the afternoon with your beverage of choice. Each of the bed and breakfast's four guestrooms has a private bath, telephone and television, individual thermostat and a lovely waterfront view. Our bedrooms are named for a famous ships that once traveled the waters of Winyah Bay.

Romance abounds in this light and airy queen room overlooking the sparkling water, providing the perfect setting for a romantic honeymoon or SC weekend getaway. This room also features a private bath with whirlpool tub and hand held shower.
